She's my Cherry Pie!

Do you know it takes roughly 250 cherries to make a cherry pie?
They are often referred to as the "fruit of paradise". They taste great and come with a plethora of health benefits.  Cherries are said to have anti-inflammatory benefits which help reduce gout and arthritis pain. They are filled with antioxidants and they are said to help prevent cancer by killing the bad cells. The sweet little fruit might even help you sleep better and age slower.  The American College of Sports Medicine journal states that eating tart cherries after workouts can help repair muscle damage. 

Turkey is the world's leading cherry producing country with USA coming in at 2nd. In 2012, the USDA reported that the U.S. produced 382,150 tons of sweet cherries. 

July is harvest time for cherries, so get out there and enjoy cause life is just a bowl of cherries !
