Avocados - The Super Food

It's a good kind of fat !  Avocados are packed with monounsaturated fats and they can actually help lower your LDL cholesterol. Use of avocados date back 10,000 years in the Mexican civilization.  With the intro of this rich fruit into the U.S., California has now started growing 95% of the U.S. crop.

What are some more health benefits of avocados?


  • anti-inflammatory
  • promotes blood sugar regulation
  • preliminary tests show it helps prevent certain cancers - it kills the bad cells. Medical journals show it can even reverse memory loss in Alzheimer's patients
  • fiber packed
  • it's said to have 35% more potassium than a banana


Get out and get some nacho chips and try this quick fresh guacamole dip, it just feels like Summertime.

2 ripe avocados
1 lime
1-2 cloves grated garlic
2 tablespoons finely chopped onions
salt & pepper
3 tablespoons salsa
some fresh cilantro
