Easy Biscuits And Gravy Baby

By Lisa VanWilliams

Happy New Year from our family to yours!

Start the day off with this stick to your ribs Southern style breakfast that will keep everyone filled up and energized til lunch time.  This is another one of my mom's recipes that she has been making for morning crowds over the years, and everyone loves it and they make sure to request it. It's a quick, simple 15 minute recipe, and it's a popular dish because it tastes incredibly delicious.

Biscuits and gray became popular during the American Revolutionary war when food supply was in short demand.  It was a cheap filling breakfast for the plantation workers facing a long day.

Ingredients:
Jimmy Dean sausage roll (regular, hot, or mild)
1-2 cups milk (less milk the thicker it will be -add to your liking)
1-2 tablespoons butter
1-2 tablespoons flour
pepper
biscuits (Pillsbury or store brand)

Directions:
We fried up some hot sausage til it's cooked and broken down. Drain the grease.  Add the butter and coat all the sausage, then you want to sprinkle all the sausage with flour.  Get each piece of sausage coated with a little butter and flour.  Then add your milk and simmer this over medium heat until it thickens -add some fresh cracked pepper.

While the sauce simmering and thickening, cook your ready to make biscuits in the oven to cook.  Once your biscuits are ready, split one in half and cover each side with a scoop of sausage gravy and serve. Enjoy!
