Fall Hikes

By Lisa VanWilliams

It's a great time to get out and hit the hiking trails with New England foliage peaking.  It's a wonderful way to get moving and with all the beautiful tree colors to look at you wont realize your burning calories. On average, you can burn anywhere from 430 to 550 calories an hour depending on your weight and intensity level.* Find a local trail, get out and explore!

Some spots in Southern CT near the shoreline to go to for good viewing/ride might be:

Jones Tree Farm (Shelton)
Silverman's Farm (Easton)
Sleeping Giant State Park (Hamden)
Quinnipiac Trail (Hamden)
Housatonic Trail (Trumbull)
Indian Wells State Park  (Shelton)
West Rock (New Haven)
Silver Sands State Park (Milford)
Gillette Castle State Park (East Haddam)
